Update

Due to an increase in other commitments, I can't guarantee that the cookies you request will be sent promptly. I will eventually send you cookies (assuming my budget allows me to), but it might not be right after you request the cookies. Please be patient. I will have more time to send cookies this summer.

What?

Want some homemade cookies? I'll send you some. For free.

How?

1. Send an email to with the address to where I can send you cookies. Feel free to add a message. I'll post messages that I like to this website with your permission.

2. I'll send you a few cookies as soon as I can. I'm just starting this out so I don't know how many cookies I can send or what the best way to send them is, so please be patient.

3. If you liked the cookies, let me know, and spread the word! If you like the idea, tell your friends about this site. I'm just starting this out so I would love to get feedback about cookie quality, especially if they were crushed. Send an email to . If you could send me a photo of your cookies so I can see how crushed they are, I'd really appreciate it! I'll post messages that I like.

Why?

My name is Julia and I am an undergraduate at the University of Washington. I really like baking cookies, so when I was away this summer I decided to send my friends some homemade cookies.

Then I realized that it would feel great to get delicious homemade cookies from somebody in the mail, and wanted to give this feeling to more than just my friends. Baking and sending cookies is my way little way of making people happy all around the world.

I'm also curious to find out how people will react to getting free cookies from a stranger in the mail, and what people think about the idea in general. So, if you have any feedback about the site, the idea, or the cookies, let me know what you think by sending an email to

FAQ

What recipe do you use?

I use the classic Nestle Tollhouse recipe to make my cookies, minus the nuts:

amountingredient
2 1/4 cupsall-purpose flour
1 teaspoonbaking soda
1 teaspoonsalt
1 cup (2 sticks, 1/2 pound)butter, softened
3/4 cupgranulated [white] sugar
3/4 cuppacked brown sugar
1 teaspoonvanilla extract
2eggs
2 cupsSemi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

What are the restrictions?

I wish I could give an infinite amount of cookies away forever, but unfortunately cookies are expensive to make and ship and I only have 24 hours in a day. Because of this, there are two main restrictions to my giving away cookies:

  1. I will not fill multiple orders to the same address in the same batch. This means you should wait until you get your cookies to ask again. This is only fair to the other people who want cookies on the site.
  2. I will stop making cookies once I have lost $100 from making cookies. So if you want to keep having cookies, please donate!

What is the catch?

There is none. I won't sell your email address/home address/name/whatever. I really just want to send people cookies and make them happy. If you don't believe me, ask one of the people who have received cookies from me.

How can I support this?

Right now the biggest thing you can do is spread the word. If you think this is a cool idea, tell all your friends! Even if you don't want a cookies right now, tell everyone you know because you never know who might want a cookie.

If you really want to help the cause, then consider donating. The sidebar indicates how much money I have lost from making and shipping cookies. I will stop making and sending cookies once I have lost $100, so if you liked your cookies and want more, please consider donating!

Here's a rough idea of how much it costs to make and ship cookies:

itemcost
4 cookies$0.50
Shipping$1.50
Total$2.00

I'm not doing this to make money, but I cannot continue doing this if I lose too much. So, please consider donating to support this service!
